Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. She is an actress or singer, as well as dancer. Early Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford will next be seen as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over a century. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Her additional Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
